Community
Johns Creek was incorporated in 2006. It is a suburban community of approximately 70,050* people in a 32 square mile area located 30 miles northeast of Atlanta. The City government provides the majority of services, including Police and Fire. It has a City Council/City Manager form of government.

Johns Creek is part of the Metro Atlanta area, the fastest growing** metropolitan region in the US. For a guide to mass transportation options and major routes in and out of the City, read Getting around Johns Creek.

Facts about city services, permits, code enforcement, public safety, neighborhood meetings, events and other pertinent information are listed in City Information.

There are many community resources available to serve residents, visitors and businesses, including libraries & cultural facilities, local media and medical facilities.

Johns Creek is known for its vibrant neighborhoods, the majority of which have been developed since the 1980s. For many years, the area was a rural farming community.

Though a new municipality, the City of Johns Creek has already begun to identify steps we can take to try to achieve sustainability throughout our municipal services and operations.

Schools
It would be a challenge to find any US city where parental and community support played more of a crucial role in the success of its public schools than Johns Creek. A citizenry that believes in the value

of education – and backs it up with volunteering in all aspects of school life – is one of Johns Creek's greatest assets.

Students have a number of public school choices, depending, in part, on the location of their residence in Fulton County School attendance zones.

Johns Creek's public schools receive extraordinary support from parents and local businesses that actively see themselves as community partners in education. As a result, Johns Creek students consistently rank at the top of national test scores and excel in all walks of school life: academic, athletic and extra-curricular.

Here are just a few examples of outstanding accomplishments by students at Johns Creek high schools that would not be possible without parental and community support:

Johns Creek's 14 public middle and elementary schools provide a warm and positive environment for K-8th grade students to experience the joy of learning.
